Themed dinner at Konírna
As part of our October themed dinner, we invite you on a culinary journey to the lesser-known but fascinating Italian region of Abruzzo.
This region combines the majesty of the mountains with the beauty of the sea. The impressive peaks of the Apennines, including Gran Sasso – the highest mountain in mainland Italy – and extensive national parks covering almost a third of the region are home to rare fauna such as wolves, bears, and eagles. The Abruzzo landscape offers views of green pastures where sheep and goats roam freely, while the vineyards are full of red Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and white Trebbiano d'Abruzzo grapes. In addition, the local olive groves produce excellent oils from the Leccino cultivar.
During the evening, you will have the opportunity to experience the authentic aromas and flavors of this undiscovered gem of Italy. Valerio Centofanti, chef and owner of the restaurant L'Angolo d'Abruzzo, will visit us in Prague. Together with his family, he has been cooking traditional Abruzzo cuisine for more than 40 years. Their restaurant once boasted a Michelin star, but they decided to stay true to their roots and instead focus on honest and simple mountain cuisine that reflects the true soul of Abruzzo. It is thanks to this authenticity that their restaurant is always sold out, even though it offers "only" simple, classic local dishes. Valerio's menu is accompanied by wines from the Abruzzo winery Torre dei Beati.
Come and see for yourself on Wednesday, October 16, at our Konírna in Smíchov and experience an authentic Abruzzo evening.
