Sardinia as you've never seen it before

During this year's first themed dinner, we will reveal the lesser-known but nonetheless interesting side of Sardinia. Most of us associate this island with summer, the sea, and light Mediterranean cuisine. And yet, the local cuisine has a lot to offer in winter too – excellent seasonal cuisine – cucina di terra, as the Sardinians call it.

This heartier cuisine is perfectly paired with wines from the La Contralta winery, which produces wines with a more robust character that are better suited to food than just drinking. La Contralta is the current star of the Sardinian wine world. Winemaker Roberto Gariup, originally from Friuli, makes wines in Sardinia using amphorae and long fermentations on the skins. You will taste Vermentino as you have never tasted it before, Cannonau, which is more reminiscent of Burgundy wines than Italy, and Carignano, a little-known but excellent variety.

Tamara Zanellato comes from Turin, but she worked for six years in Sardinia, which she loves and which has significantly influenced her Piedmontese style. In mid-January, Tamara will join our Market as a chef, which we are very happy about, and this will be her debut in front of the demanding Prague audience.
