Five Refreshing Italian Cocktails

Summer calls for cocktails with friends, but it would be a shame to stick with just the Aperol Spritz!

Discover the taste of liqueurs and spirits from the small artisan distillery La Valdotaine, made with mountain herbs and crystal clear water from the Valle d'Aosta mountains; Il Gusto della Costa's iconic, fragrant Limoncello lemon liqueur, made from organic lemons grown on the steep slopes of Amalfi; or artisanal liqueurs, grappas and spirits from the legendary Nonino distillery, the only Italian distillery to hold the title of "Best Distillery in the World".

Limoncello Spritz

A holiday-scented lemon spritz that will transport you to the citrus groves of the Amalfi Coast.

What you'll need:

4 cl of Il Gusto della Costa limoncello
4 cl of prosecco
a slice of lemon
a splash of soda water
ice

Put ice in a glass, add 4 cl of Il Gusto della Costa limoncello, top up with prosecco and a splash of soda. Garnish with lemon.

Caffè Aperol (more herbal variant: Caffè Botanical)

A distinctive cocktail according to our own recipe, which perfectly combines the aroma of mountain herbs and coffee with the refreshing taste of orange.

What you'll need:

Biondo Goppion coffee
Aperol or L'Aperitivo Nonino Botanical Drink
4 cl La Valdotaine gin
4 cl La Valdotaine vermouth
orange slice
ice

Mix Biondo Goppion coffee with Aperol or Aperitivo Botanical Nonino (70 g coffee per 700 ml), leave to macerate for 2 hours and then strain. Fill the glass with ice, add 4 cl coffee macerate, 4 cl Valdotaine gin, 4 cl Valdotaine vermouth, stir and garnish with an orange slice.

Aperitivo Nonino Spritz

Toast the way the ladies of the renowned Nonino distillery do. This interesting, fresh drink by Cristina Nonino smells beautifully of herbs and citrus.

What you'll need:

4 cl L'Aperitivo Nonino Botanical Drink
2 cl prosecco or tonic
0.5 cl lemon juice
lemon zest or orange slice
ice

Put ice in a glass, add 4 cl L'Aperitivo Nonino Botanical Drink, 2 cl tonic or prosecco, 0.5 cl lemon juice and garnish with lemon zest or orange slice.

Aperitivo Amaro Nonino Giannola Style

The perfect companion for hot summer evenings according to Giannola Nonino's recipe. Elegant, stylish and incredibly fresh.

What you will need:

5 cl Amaro Nonino
4 cl prosecco
orange slice
ice

Pour ice into a glass, add 5 cl Amaro, 4 cl prosecco and garnish with an orange slice.

Gin Basil Spritz

Gin in an unusual summer variant with prosecco and basil to give it a fresh Mediterranean touch.

What you'll need:

4 cl La Valdotaine gin
4 cl prosecco
soda water
1/2 lime
basil
cane sugar
ice

Place the basil and cane sugar in a glass. Lightly mash with a spoon to release the aroma. Add the juice of 1/2 lime and gin. Fill with ice, top up with prosecco and a splash of soda water. Stir gently and garnish with basil.
