Three days full of gelato and one crazy gelato dinner
This year’s gelato season is kicking off with a bold, playful twist—and in a way that’s completely different from what you’re used to. We’ve invited Roman gelato wizard Marco Radicioni to Prague, a man who pushes the boundaries of what you can imagine when it comes to gelato. You can look forward to three days filled with gelato in both traditional and very daring varieties, free tastings, and one very crazy four-course gelato dinner.
Marco Radicioni is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary gelato and the founder of the renowned Roman gelateria Otaleg. He didn’t discover gelato until adulthood—and perhaps that’s precisely why he approaches it differently than others. He doesn’t work with flavors, but with the ingredients themselves. He freezes them in a way that preserves their essence and gives them a new form. He can transform even very unconventional ingredients into a surprising experience.
What’s happening here?
May 12–13: FESTA DEL GELATO IN SMÍCHOV AND DEJVICE
During these two days, you’ll have a unique opportunity to meet Marco in person, sample gelato made from his original recipes for free—from the familiar to the truly daring—and be surprised by all the possibilities of ice cream. In addition to tastings, you’ll of course be able to purchase gelato as well.
May 12, 12 PM–8 PM Smíchov, Strakonická 948/1
May 13, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM Dejvice, Národní obrany 29
May 14: CRAZY GELATO DINNER
On Thursday, May 14, we invite you to a four-course gelato dinner that will be anything but ordinary. For one night only, the kitchen will turn everything upside down, and gelato will take center stage throughout the entire menu, from appetizer to dessert. Expect the unexpected: gorgonzola, bacon, or amatriciana in forms you’ve never experienced before. And feel free to bring the kids—they’ll definitely enjoy vegetables disguised as ice cream. This time, we haven’t paired the menu with wines, but with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, so everyone can truly enjoy the evening.
It’ll be playful. It’ll be wild. It’ll be crazy. If you’re in the mood to experience something truly new, we look forward to seeing you.
