Meet the cheesemaker in person: A Branzi cheese tasting with Bruno Midali

Wednesday, September 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Smíchov

Come meet the Midali family of cheesemakers from the Branzi cheese dairy in Lombardy and taste their wonderful artisanal cheeses made from unpasteurized milk, produced in the Orobic Alps. Do you know how cheese is made and what goes into it? Bruno Midali will be happy to introduce you to the secrets of his craft. The tasting is free, and no reservation is needed. Just stop by our Smíchov store on Wednesday, September 30, between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Latteria di Branzi is more than just a cheese dairy—it’s a guardian of culinary tradition and a true symbol of the cheese-making heritage of the Orobic Alps in the province of Bergamo. Located in the heart of the Lombard Alps, it has been processing fresh milk since 1953, supplied daily by approximately 70 small local dairy farmers. This means a short supply chain, strict quality control, and a deep respect for nature, animals, and craftsmanship.

Their cheeses tell stories of mountain pastures, morning milking, and skilled hands that transform milk into true treasures of Italian tradition.

Whether you’re preparing a creamy risotto, an aperitif with friends, a fresh summer salad, or polenta, Branzi has cheeses for every occasion. From Salva Cremasco to the unique Stracchino all’antica (a Slow Food Presidium) to Rosso Imperiale, which combines the bold flavor of Gorgonzola with the sweetness of red grapes.
